Woodfield Tree Blitz and St Andre Bessette Catholic School Depot – May 7

Project type:
Neighbourhood Re-Leaf

On Sunday May 7th, ReForest London staff and volunteers set up for our first tree blitz of the season in the historic Woodfield neighbourhood at Lord Roberts Public School. It was a beautiful sunny day, and volunteers arrived excited to go out in the neighbourhood with wagons fully loaded with trees.

While volunteers took trees out into the neighbourhood to go door-to-door and deliver pre-ordered trees, lots of residents also stopped by at Lord Roberts to browse the selection of trees and to choose trees to take home. There was a wide variety of trees to pick from (including fruit trees!), and residents were able to pick the perfect tree for their yard!

The event was a great success for ReForest London, who gave away 172 trees throughout the afternoon. We hope that everyone will enjoy their new trees for years to come!

Also on Sunday, ReForest London ran a Tree Depot at St Andre Bessette Catholic School! Tulip and cherry trees were in high demand, and we gave out 129 trees!

Thank you to all of our volunteers for their help, and to homeowners for helping make London a greener city!

Thank you to the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Richard and Beryl Ivey Fund, a fund of London Community Foundation, Healthy Kids Community Challenge, and TreeMe (City of London) for supporting our Tree Blitzes and Tree Depots.
