Biography: Nathan Walker owns and operates R.A. Walker Construction Ltd., an excavating company that was started in London by his father in 1972. Nathan has always enjoyed the outdoors. His passions include golfing, skiing, surfing, biking, white water kayaking, and camping. Always at his side are his supportive wife Sara and his right hand man Sam (his dog).

In 2003 Nathan decided to try tree planting in Prince George British Columbia. Over the course of two summers he planted 72,000 trees. Back in London, he finished his electrical apprenticeship and started working in the family construction business. Since he started in the business in 2004, R.A. Walker Construction has continued to grow and is now a well recognized company within London and surrounding area. Nathan not only believes in working hard for his business but also in giving back to the community.

Nathan has been a part of the Residential Action Team of ReForest London and the Million Tree Challenge for the past two years. The team has been instrumental in developing some great ideas to make this a greener city for everyone to enjoy. He has been an active participant at the Western Fair Tree Giveaway. Nathan has also volunteered and provided his equipment for the Neighborhood Tree Blitz, which he helped found. Keep an eye out for his red R.A. Walker Construction vehicles that are all over town.

Reflections on Volunteering: “Give back where you can,” Nathan said. “Reforest London is the perfect way to give back to the community. By helping Reforest London I hope that my future children can enjoy The Forest City as much as I have growing up.”
