ReForest London is proud to announce that the City of London has awarded us $240,000 over four years to support The Westminster Ponds Centre for Environment and Sustainability (WPC) in its mission to advance sustainability and climate action across the city.
Entitled “Driving Climate Action at the WPC,” this transformative project marks a significant milestone in London’s journey towards a greener, more sustainable future.
With a focus on increasing native tree and seed supply through the construction of a Community Tree Nursery and Regional Seed Hub, and enhancing public programming for engagement, this initiative represents a collaborative effort to propel environmental stewardship forward in the Forest City.
The Westminster Ponds Centre for Environment and Sustainability (WPC) serves as a beacon of progress, bringing new capacity and momentum to London’s sustainability landscape. This multi-year, multi-phase project encompasses activities that support both Phase 3 and Phase 4 of the WPC’s development, solidifying its position as a powerhouse of sustainability and climate action.
“Our activities are strategically designed to drive impactful change in two key areas: the physical development and management of our site and buildings, and the delivery of engaging public programming,” said Rodger Moran, Acting Co-Executive Director of ReForest London. “By developing the region’s first Community Tree Nursery and Regional Seed Hub, we aim to create a ripple effect that benefits not only Londoners but also other organizations committed to making a difference.”
As we embark on this ambitious journey, ReForest London extends its gratitude to the City of London for their generous support and reaffirms our dedication to driving positive change for generations to come.
