Meander Creek Plantings – October 4th and 24th, 2020

ReForest London and community volunteers planted 248 native trees and shrubs at the Meander Creek stormwater management. These plants will help improve water quality and increase shade on the walking paths in the area. This site is close to the Kilally ESA and is a popular spot for walkers and nature lovers. It is also home to a great deal of wildlife. During this planting, we saw deer, a beaver, a fox, geese, and loons! We hope the additional trees and shrubs will create more habitat for them.

We were lucky enough to have 41 volunteers join us and to have beautiful fall weather for both days of planting. We are so thankful for your continued interest in making The Forest City a better place to live! The 2nd Lambeth Girl Guides group was among the volunteers that helped make this event such a success.
