ReForest London is thrilled to announce a generous funding commitment of $238,900 over two years from TD Bank Group (TD) to support the launch of a Community Tree Nursery and Regional Seed Hub at the Westminster Ponds Centre in London, Ontario. This transformative initiative aims to enhance the health and resiliency of London’s environment through the supply of native tree and seed species, education, and community engagement.
The Community Tree Nursery and Regional Seed Hub will serve as a critical resource for the community, providing native tree and seed species that are essential for maintaining and restoring local ecosystems.
It will also operate as a vibrant learning space, fostering collaborative partnerships and increasing community knowledge and action to support the environment. The initiative is set to have a significant impact on protecting and enhancing waterways, wetlands, and natural areas throughout the region.
“We are incredibly grateful to TD for their generous support, which will allow us to launch the Community Tree Nursery and Regional Seed Hub at the Westminster Ponds Centre,” said Rodger Moran, Co-Executive Director at ReForest London. “This initiative will not only provide native tree and seed species to our community but also serve as an educational platform to inspire and engage Londoners in environmental stewardship. Together, we are creating a healthier, more resilient environment for future generations.”
“At TD, we are committed to our purpose to enrich the communities we serve and help promote environmental sustainability,” said Joshua Cayer, Manager of Philanthropy, Sustainability & Corporate Citizenship, TD Bank Group. “Supporting ReForest London’s Community Tree Nursery and Regional Seed Hub aligns with TD’s goal of helping to foster resilient, vibrant communities. We are proud to contribute to a project that will have lasting benefits for the environment and the people of London.”
