Who We Are

We are ReForest London, Southwestern Ontario’s largest environmental charity, dedicated to preserving and expanding the urban forests of the region. Our vision is to see our region flourish through the impactful protection and enhancement of the natural world.

As a bridge connecting individuals, organizations, and businesses, we actively collaborate with diverse stakeholders from across Ontario. By inspiring, educating, and empowering our community, we cultivate a collective commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable practices.

At ReForest London, we prioritize the long-term impact of our work. Through our tree planting initiatives, we aim to create a lasting legacy of positive change in our region. With the support of dedicated volunteers and generous donors and funders, we harness the power of collective action to restore ecosystems, improve air quality, mitigate climate change, and enhance the overall well-being of our community.

As a registered charity, we operate with transparency and accountability, ensuring that every donation and contribution is maximized for the greatest environmental benefit. By engaging citizens in hands-on tree planting and care, we foster a sense of ownership and pride in our urban forest, empowering individuals to be proactive stewards of our natural resources.

Join us in our mission to transform Southwestern Ontario into a sustainable, green region for all people. Together, we can make a profound difference in protecting and preserving the natural world for future generations. Reach out to us today to explore how you can actively participate in creating a greener and more environmentally conscious community.

Our Goals

Empowerment

Empower community groups, businesses and individuals to plant and care for trees to help build a healthier London.

Ecosystem Health

Improve London’s environmental health through planting trees and shrubs in natural areas, parks, industrial land, commercial properties, yards and along streets.

Education

Educate Londoners about the importance of trees and of being good environmental stewards.

Our Vision

Our Commitment to Diversity

ReForest London is committed to the diversity of its board, staff and volunteers. Like a forest that thrives best when it is comprised of many different kinds of trees, ReForest London thrives and gains strength from the differing perspectives, insights and experiences a diverse group provides. Our Roots

In January 2005, in a ceremony led by Mayor Anne Marie DeCicco, ReForest London was officially launched with the planting of a new spruce tree in Victoria Park. This could not have been achieved without a generous grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation and financial support from London Community Foundation, TD Friends of the Environment and the Wetland Habitat Fund.

The launching of ReForest London established a mandate to improve London’s environmental health by planting trees in the community – along streets, in backyards, in parks, and in natural areas – and provide expertise and funding for groups to plant trees in their own neighbourhoods.

Please visit Our Roots for more information on our beginnings and our 10th year anniversary.
