University Heights Public School Tree Depot - May 6

Project type:
Neighbourhood Re-Leaf
Year:
2017
Season:
Spring

On Saturday May 6th, ReForest London staff, volunteers, and the University Heights community members set up for a tree depot at University Heights Public School. Although it was a chilly day, residents of the neighbourhood were excited to come by and pick out trees for their homes, lining up well before our start time of 9:30 a.m.

While residents selected their trees, student volunteers from University Heights Public School sold snacks as well as coffee, which helped to keep everyone warm. With a wide variety of trees, there was a tree for every yard. The depot was a huge success, and all of the trees were taken home to be planted!

Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who assisted residents and helped make the day run so smoothly. If you are interested in helping make London leafier, sign up to volunteer for a tree depot or tree blitz in the future. We are looking forward to seeing you there!

Thank you to the City of London, Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Richard and Beryl Ivey Fund, a fund of London Community Foundation, and Healthy Kids Community Challenge for supporting our Tree Depots.
