Tree Species List

Tree Species List - Banner

ReForest London will plant native trees for our Trees in Celebration, Trees in Memory and Trees for Pets programs. ReForest London will hold a Tree Planting Ceremony during the spring or fall months to plant the native trees in the Celebration Forest next to Westminster Ponds Environmentally Significant Area in the city of London, Ontario. View Tree Species List

To retain the natural beauty of the Celebration Forest, individual trees are not marked or plaqued in any way. Names of all recipients will be listed on our Celebration Forest signage during the planting year, and listed perpetually on the ReForest London website Honouree List.

WHY PLANT NATIVE TREES?

Native trees and shrubs are adapted to the local climate, and are hardier and easier to maintain than non-native species. Learn more about native trees for the London area.

Native Species:

  • are easier to maintain
  • are adapted to the region, so they handle climate extremes and other stressors better
  • provide suitable wildlife habitat
  • don't disrupt local ecosystems
