Students Extend Woodland at Chesham Heights Park

Project type:
Park Naturalization
Year:
2015
Season:
Spring
Location:
Northwest

Students from Mother Teresa Secondary School, Eagle Heights PS, and Orchard Park PS created a new woodland and increased the species diversity of an existing woodland through two days of hard work.

Chesham Heights Park, located near Wonderland and Sarnia, had an existing woodland that had very little diversity and understory. Students planted native trees and shrubs in this area of the park. In another area, the woodland was extended as students planted in a new area.

We are grateful for the support of the Helen McCrea Peacock Family Foundation and TD Friends of the Environment Foundation for supporting this project.
