When Al Gore visited London in late May as part of St. Joseph ’s Health Care Foundation’s Signature Speaker Series, London received a lasting legacy from the former US Vice President. Clintar donated more than 500 trees and seedlings to the event. Some were taken home by guests, and the rest were planted by ReForest London.

The more than 500 white spruce trees were the first of 100,000 trees planted as part of the design created by Ron Koudys Landscape Design for the Veterans Memorial Parkway. Additional trees for the project were donated by Canadale Nursery and Forestcare Corporation.

About 35 volunteers helped plant about 350 trees along the west side Parkway between Trafalgar and Dundas street. ReForest London watered them throughout the summer, with the help of discounted watering truck fees from Clintar, and the trees are doing well.

Two high school students work together to plant seedlings.

A crew of about 35 volunteers showed up to help beautify the Veteran's Memorial Parkway.
