Projects - Million Tree Challenge

Staples Canada’s annual Superpower Your School Contest, now in its fifth year, has awarded London’s very own Saunders Secondary School with the prize of $25,000 worth of new technology for their outstanding sustainability and environmental initiatives. 

Million Tree Challenge Partner, RCC Waterproofing, stepped up and generously sponsored 1,000 native tree seedlings for giveaway at the 2015 London Life Forest City Road Races this past weekend.

A new Junior Achievement business in London, Clean Green, is dedicated to helping the environment not only through their cleaning products, but by being a Million Tree Challenge Partner and donating to ReForest London.

It was an evening of fun and celebration when the second annual A Toast to Trees was held at Museum London on October 23rd. Around 150 people joined in the festivities to recognize the Million Tree Challenge successes and keep the momentum going.

What are the barriers for Industry in London to planting trees on their properties? ReForest London wanted to find out first hand so we invited a group of London industrial leaders to a Focus Group about just that subject at Labatt on September 18, 2014.

National Tree Day 2014 was another great day for getting trees into the hands of Londoners thanks to 16 MTC Partners. Over 1850 Native tree seedlings and saplings were given away at 33 public and 5 private locations.

Charterhouse Cresent neighbours, Rapid Binding & Laminating and Longo Custom Kitchens & Woodwork have decided to do a naturalization project on their land and take advantage of current subsidies offered through a TD Green Streets grant.

MTC Media Partner 102.3 BOBfm, has been tremendously supportive of the Million Tree Challenge Citywide Tree Sale for the past two years in a variety of ways.

In the celebration and recognition of World Environment Day 2014, Labatt, the City of London and ReForest London co-hosted the third annual London Environmental Forum at Labatt Hometown Brewery on June 5 th.  

Million Tree Challenge Media Partner SCENE Magazine is supporting London's Million Tree Challenge through editorial and regular donated banner advertising! 

Three Million Tree Challenge Partners joined forces to fund a tree planting at Rosecliffe Park.

As part of Earth Week and London's Clean & Green activities, Million Tree Challenge Partner John Zubick Limited held an e-waste recycling event to raise money to go toward tree planting in London’s Million Tree Challenge.

The Fanshawe First Nations Centre’s Year-End Gathering brought together communities to celebrate the success of Fanshawe’s Indigenous students. Fanshawe presented each of the local six First Nations groups with a cedar tree to be planted in their honour in The Celebration Forest.

There is strength in numbers, especially when it comes to London's Million Tree Challenge.

Million Tree Challenge Partner, The Tea Haus is raising $500 to donate to ReForest London.

Million Tree Challenge Partners Wizards of Video donate their time and skills to create videos for ReForest London and the Million Tree Challenge.

Veterans Memorial Parkway Community Program (VMPCP) a Million Tree Challenge Partner, wins the Green for Life Community Award for their amazing ongoing planting project on the VMP.

In celebration of National Tree Day, Home Hardware - London East Building Centre plants 200 trees in Soveriegn Woods

This year’s National Tree Day was a big success in London, thanks to the efforts and support of twenty-two Million Tree Challenge Partners.2700 baby trees found new homes with Londoners!

TD Tree Days is TD’s flagship volunteer program, providing TD Employees, their families, TD customers and community partners the opportunity to demonstrate leadership in environmental stewardship in their local communities.

In celebration of spring 2013, WINMAR London wanted to do something to help support London’s Million Tree Challenge and also create a fun, friendly competition within the State Farm offices and The Co-operators offices in London. 

This past spring, two different Million Tree Challenge Partners hosted successful tree sales – St. Joseph’s Health Care London/London Health Sciences Centre and Old South Community Organization.

Good things are growing in London! Over the winter and spring, several different groups and individuals grew trees to support London’s Million Tree Challenge.

In celebration of spring 2013, WINMAR London wanted to do something to help support London’s Million Tree Challenge and also create a fun, friendly competition within the State Farm offices and The Co-operators offices in London. 

Dave Craven at Union Gas challenged some colleagues in London to support a park naturalization project to benefit the Million Tree Challenge. On June 8th, Jesse Davidson Park was the site of this challenge in action!
