Video added as New Category in Amazing Tree Quest

Will London’s Amazing Tree Quest reach new heights to get people in London excited about the trees in our city?

“The sky’s the limit when it comes to people’s enthusiasm for London’s trees” says Julie Ryan, Executive Director of ReForest London.

To share their amazing tree with the community, Londoners now have three options: photos, art or video.

“Last year the huge response to the category, tree-inspired art, showed us that people have more creative ways to express their appreciation for trees,” says Julie Ryan, Executive Director of ReForest London, “Video is a great way to showcase our city’s trees.”

The Amazing Tree Quest is a city-wide contest to celebrate the important role that trees play in our lives. From now until August 15, Londoners of all ages are invited to nominate trees in six unique categories:

  • Favourite Tree
  • Historic  Tree
  • Tree-Inspired Art
  • Best New Tree
  • For Kids: Show and Tell Tree
  • Best Tree Video

ReForest London has partnered with the London Arts Council and the London Short Film Showcase this year. The London Arts Council will judge the professional Tree-Inspired Art Category, and the London Short Film Showcase will judge the video category. London leaders and tree experts will judge the remaining categories.

Trees can be entred online at ReForest London's website.

“It’s very simple,” explains Ryan, “In less than 10 minutes, your tree will be part of this year’s story about London’s trees. Others can then see and vote for your trees.”
The Lead Event Sponsor for the Amazing Tree Quest is Clintar Groundskeeping.

“At Clintar we sincerely appreciate the good work that ReForest London is doing to increase awareness as to the importance of trees in the Forest City, “ said Mike Malleck, co-owner of Clintar Groundskeeping.  “We are proud to be associated with ReForest London and the Amazing Tree Quest again in 2011.”

rTraction has provided web development services for the contest this year. London Life is the lead sponsor of ReForest London in 2011.
