ReForest London partnered with Community Living London, the London Middlesex Civitans Club and the Lashbrook Group to plant a healing garden at the Dissing Crescent house.

About 20 volunteers gathered at supported living home operated by Community Living London to plant 20 junipers and cedars and two large perennial gardens. All five residents of Dissing Crescent are seniors who have intellectual disabilities as well as some form of dementia. Many also have physical disabilities.

The two circular flowerbeds are anchored by flowering shrubs in the back yard. A wheelchair accessible path joins the circular flowerbeds. Raised planting boxes near the path will allow people who have physical disabilities to work in the garden. All trees and plants are native to southwestern Ontario.

The bed is begun.

The bed is ready to plant.

The bed is complete with volunteers standing proudly by.
