Clara Brenton Woods

Project type:
Park Naturalization
Year:
2010
Season:
Fall
Location:
Northwest

ReForest London and community volunteers, including the Muslim Student Association from UWO, helped plant trees at Clara Brenton Park on a wet October day. We transformed a mowed grassy area by planting 130 trees and 90 shrubs with the help of 87 volunteers.

The ground had been tilled by the Dirty Girls Lawn Care and was perfect for planting, so the trees went in quickly.

Clara Brenton Woods is a small woodland in north west London. Over ten years ago, residents worked hard to save the woodland from development, and it became one of the first woodlands purchased by the City to preserve it. Some of these neighbours helped with the planting and others stopped by to commend us on the work.

This project was funded by Environment Canada.

This neighbour was excited about the new trees.
