Year:
2017
Season:
Fall
Location:

tree with hatIt was another sunny Saturday for the Carling near Highbury Tree Blitz! Setting up headquarters at Sir John A. MacDonald Public School, the Neighbourhood ReLeaf team was a joined by 5 dedicated volunteers with the same goal, increase the tree cover in the neighbourhood and better the well-being of all residents! We had a wide variety of trees, including serviceberry, redbud, white pines, maples and even apple trees.

Between our TREE-mendous wagon teams, truck driver Steve, and tree specialists helping at headquarters, we give out 130 trees in total, making this event a great success. The trees will be counted towards the Million Tree Challenge. We hope the season will continue this trend of success!

If you are interested in making London leafier, sign up to volunteer for another tree blitz by clicking here! We look forward to seeing you there!

Thanks also goes out to the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Richard and Beryl Ivey Fund of the London Community Foundation, TreeMe, London Life and the City of London for being lead funders on this project.
